What Is Flatbread?
As the name suggests, flatbread is bread that is flat, which is very different from how we in the Netherlands, for example, make bread.
It is a collective name for various flatbreads. The flatbreads are often made without yeast, which means they do not rise and do not become very thick, often less than an inch.
The method of preparation of a flatbread varies per bread. One flatbread is baked in the oven, the other on the grill or in a pan. For this flatbread recipe, we use a pan.
Flatbread Recipe
In this 2 ingredient flatbread recipe, we only use two ingredients! It is also a well-known trick for easy pizza dough: self-rising flour and Greek yogurt.
The big advantage is that you do not have to let the dough rise.
You can also use a plant-based yogurt instead of Greek yogurt to make it a vegan flatbread, but your flatbread will be a bit stiffer.

How To Make Flatbread?
When you have the ingredients, we can start making the flatbreads. First, you mix the self-raising flour with the Greek yogurt with a fork. Optionally, you can also add a little salt to taste. Note: it is a sticky dough!
Brush your hands with a bit of oil and divide the dough into six balls. Roll out each ball nicely into a flatbread. We make our flat bread a bit naan-shaped, like a flat oval.
Fry the flatbread in oil in a frying pan. Depending on the size of your pan, you can fry several at the same time. The flatbread will rise during baking. Fry them for a few minutes per side.
And then your bread with Greek yogurt will be ready!

How To Store Flatbread?

We recommend storing your flatbreads in the refrigerator for a maximum of 3 days, tightly sealed in a bag or container.
Do you want to reheat them afterward? Either do this in the pan or wrap them in aluminum foil and put them in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees.
You can also freeze the flatbreads and store them for a longer period (a month or two).
